Our Story

How it all started...

Organized in 1928 with approximately 107 members, the New Pleasant Gove Missionary Baptist Church began to build a foundation upon the core principles of Worship, Ministry, Evangelism, Fellowship, and Discipleship, with the mission for its community to Love God, Love People, and Lead others to do the same. In the spirit reflective of the evangelistic mission, the church motto, “I must work the works of Him that sent me while it is day, for night cometh when no man can work,” John 9:4, was adopted, reflecting the works of a diverse and dedicated membership.

Expanding the vision...

Hailing from every walk of life, NPG Missionary Baptist Church members are not only committed to spreading the word of God within their own community but they are commissioned with the undertaking to spread the Gospel across the Greater Houston Area and beyond. As the church family continues to be led by the Spirit of God, you are invited to join the journey and walk together with us in fulfillment of God’s will. It is our hope that you will think of New Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church as we do.  That is,  Christ’s work for our salvation and our work for others, with the simple reminder that our duty is perpetual and has no end.

Where we are headed...

Join us, worship with us, and grow with us, as together, we share in the message of hope that ultimately brings us closer in our walk of Faith through Jesus Christ.

“There is one Body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called into one hope of your calling: One Lord, One faith, and One baptism; One God, and Father of all, who is above all, and in you all.” Ephesians 4:4-6
